## FAQ

### Does Gmail offer email templates?

Yes, Gmail has a native, built-in feature for email templates, which was formerly known as “Canned Responses”. It’s a basic tool that allows you to save and reuse emails, but it must be manually enabled in your Gmail settings. It does not support team sharing or merge tags for personalization.

### Why doesn’t my Gmail have a template option?

The template option doesn’t appear by default in Gmail because you need to enable it first. To do this, go to Gmail Settings (the gear icon), click “See all settings,” then navigate to the “Advanced” tab. In the Advanced section, find “Templates” and click “Enable.” Once you save your changes, the option will appear in your compose window.

### How do you create email templates in Gmail?

Once you’ve enabled the feature, you can create a template by following these steps:

1. Compose a new email with the text you want to save as a template.
2. Click the three-dot menu (“More options”) in the bottom-right of the compose window.
3. Hover over “Templates” in the menu that appears.
4. Select “Save draft as template,” and then “Save as new template.”
5. Give your template a name and click “Save.”

### Where do I find my templates in Gmail?

To find and use your saved templates, open a new email compose window. Click on the three-dot menu (“More options”) at the bottom, hover over “Templates,” and you will see a list of all the templates you have saved. Simply click on the template you want to use, and it will be inserted into your email.

### What is the best tool for email templates in Gmail?

The “best” tool depends on your needs. While Gmail’s free built-in feature is good for basic, individual use, it lacks team features. For sales teams that need to share templates, use merge tags for personalization, and want full integration with a CRM, a tool like [Salesflare](https://salesflare.com) is the top choice. It allows you to manage templates as a team directly from your Gmail inbox and connect them to your sales pipeline and email campaigns.
